Meet Acronym’s Ilya Cherepakhin

PPC Director

When did you join Acronym?IlyaAcro400x400

In December 2014.

Where were you previously, what was your title and what clients did you work with?

I was a Paid Search Director at Neo@Ogilvy, where I worked with a wide range of clients including Weight Watchers, Novartis and IBM.

What is your title at Acronym and what are your responsibilities?

As Director, PPC & Social, I develop global Paid Search and Paid Social strategies for clients looking to scale their acquisition marketing efforts.

Which Acronym clients do you work with?

Right now I work with the Fairmont, Raffles and Swissotel brands as well as The Canadian Tourism Commission (CTC), Canada’s national tourism marketing organization.

What do you consider the most interesting things you do at work?

As digital channels evolve, it is fascinating to see how we can learn more about user behavior and draw new insights. From Google’s Remarketing Lists for Search Ads (RLSA) to Facebook’s extensive data partnerships, it is exciting to engage with users in more relevant ways. I am also fortunate to be part of a diverse team with experiences across many markets. In working with international platforms like Baidu and Yandex, it’s been great to see how the digital space varies around the world and the opportunities this offers to global brands.

What do you like to do when you are not working?

As an avid skier, in the winter I enjoy hitting the slopes. I also like playing tennis and biking with friends to discover new neighborhoods around New York City. Even after a few years of living here, there are still many areas to explore with their eclectic restaurants, unique architecture and interesting landmarks.

The hero image is not attention-grabbing enough. The color and imagery is a bit dull. Could we have something more dynamic? Either something that reads “digital marketing” or a workplace image with people in a creative meeting?
